Vanessa and Chris, fellow members of my tennis club, approached me with a request for a resort holiday where they could enjoy both tennis and some well-deserved relaxation. I’m pleased to say that my hotel recommendation seems to have hit the mark…
Memories of past holidays made us long for the sound of cicadas and the scent of cypress trees that Greece always delivers. Add to that the guaranteed hot, sunny weather and a refreshing glass of ouzo, and we couldn’t resist.
We asked Susan to find us a low-rise resort away from the hustle and bustle, and she delivered perfectly. Although the Euro football finals were in full swing during our stay, it added to the experience with the bar buzzing and serving late into the night.
From the moment we arrived, the Aeolian Village Beach Hotel and its beautifully lit grounds set the tone for a truly relaxing holiday.
Thanks to Susan's direct communication with the hotel, we were given one of the best rooms in the resort, complete with a sea view and easy access to all areas. We felt fortunate, especially after seeing that many other guests had to tackle a 66-step climb to reach their hillside rooms.
The all-inclusive board was a fantastic choice - meals were superb and plentiful.
We made use of the tennis courts every day, a key aspect that Susan had ensured for us, and we were pleased to find there was no extra charge.
The hotel was so well-organised that we felt completely at ease, with every day passing smoothly. Some of our favourite moments, along with playing tennis each day, included relaxing by the pool and on the beach without having to fight for sun loungers, enjoying the beach bar while watching sailing and windsurfing, and the warm evenings spent together at the outdoor pool bar, watching the Mark Warner entertainment.
The friendly atmosphere made it easy to connect with other guests, and we even found new tennis partners.
As avid walkers, we couldn’t resist exploring the nearby village of Skala Eresou, just a 15-minute walk from the resort. Despite the scorching temperatures, soaring to over 40 degrees, we made the trip twice during our stay. The village offered a delightful array of tavernas and local jewellery shops, all well worth exploring.
We would absolutely return again, but with so many other places we’ve yet to experience together, our curiosity may take us elsewhere first.
Lesbos, with its natural beauty and the charm of the Aeolian Village Beach Hotel, provided the perfect setting for a memorable break. Susan found a holiday that fulfilled every item on our wish list, and she did so at a price we never imagined could fit within our budget.
We won’t hesitate to book through Susan again. Thank you for making it all possible.
