Client Blog: Sunita's first family holiday to Dubai

I first looked after Sunita in 2017 when her family needed help planning an Italian trip. A couple of years later, I had the pleasure of booking her honeymoon to South Africa and Mauritius and was delighted when she contacted me to help organise their first family holiday…

For our first family holiday with our one-year-old, we were after a stress-free experience, a good family-friendly hotel and some warm weather, ideally somewhere with low case numbers and a Covid-safe reputation.

After consultation with Susan, we were happy with Dubai, somewhere we had been many years before and settled on Dukes The Palm in the Palm Jumeirah area.

Susan was extremely helpful, making us aware of all that we needed to do, including PCR tests 48 hours before departure, all our required forms and checking we had done everything correctly. It was all very straightforward and we were glad to have the reassurance.

Everything was smooth at Birmingham Airport too; it felt relatively quiet, and it was easy getting through security and the terminal. Flying with Emirates was fantastic. The service was excellent; the staff took my son’s allergies seriously and checked on us regularly to see if there was anything that we needed.

Susan had arranged a private transfer and we excitedly arrived at Dukes.

The hotel was stunning from the moment we got there until leaving. It has panoramic views of the sea and city; a private beach and its luxurious welcoming surroundings make it the ideal place for spending time as a family.

It had everything that we needed: the room was a magnificent size, amenities were spot on, service throughout was brilliant and so accommodating for us with a baby - we were very well looked after. At the delicious breakfast particularly, the waiters all knew my son’s name and came to play and talk with him often.

We loved the fantastic pool and lazy river; my son didn't want to get out! The beach bar also offered an amazing menu, and with the other fine food at the hotel restaurants, we ate very well indeed.

Masks in the public areas were compulsory, which was a little uncomfortable at first with the heat but fine once we got used to it.

We had planned to do lots of activities during the days, however we ended up happily staying in the hotel most of the time, although we did manage to get out to the marina, the Dubai Mall and Atlantis.

The return logistics were equally as smooth and the holiday was a huge success, we were so pleased to have made the decision to go and have been delighted to recommend Dubai as a great family destination to friends and of course Susan to look after them.
