Client Blog: Margaret & Bernard's Lanzarote holiday

I have enjoyed taking care of the Robinson's travels for eight years, booking numerous cruises for them. From time to time they like to take a hotel-based holiday and earlier this year I suggested the Princess Yaiza in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, as it ticked all their boxes. They were not disappointed...

January 2020 seems but a distant memory and a world away, but we did start this year in more “normal” times with a fabulous and well organised holiday at the Princess Yaiza Hotel in Lanzarote.

We enjoyed a pleasant flight from Manchester to Arrecife and the private transfer that Susan had arranged from the airport to the hotel was most welcome.

The Princess Yaiza is an impressive hotel. Our first impressions were of spaciousness and greenery with so many huge palms, cacti and aloes growing in an indoor space and surrounded by huge scale water features.

It was a pleasant surprise to discover that we had been upgraded to a spacious suite, so we had ample room plus a large balcony for relaxation.

There was a great choice of dining options, from Italian and tapas to gourmet, with the buffet restaurants offering ample choice of excellent food. We also purchased an extra package to have access to the speciality restaurants.

The hotel has a gift shop, a boutique, large separate areas for children's entertainment and no less than six outdoor swimming pools.

Strolling straight from the hotel onto the promenade was welcome and a favourite nearby destination for us was the stylish Marina Rubicon where the ultra-expensive yachts and catamarans are moored along with plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Walking in the opposite direction from the hotel leads to the ferry terminal area where you can sail across to Corralejo in Fuerteventura. We also booked an extremely enjoyable excursion to a local farm with the hotel.

Unfortunately, you can’t quite have it all - Susan’s powers to organise every single element of the holiday favourably only fell slightly short in not being able to guarantee sunshine at all times, other than that it was exactly what we were after and we feel very fortunate to have had a holiday experience in 2020.
